DJ’s work and volunteerism are focused on community engagement and partnership development - bringing people together to solve problems.
He is the former president of Winston Heights/Mountview Community Association and a City Council-appointed board member of Ward 4’s Greenview Industrial Business Improvement Area. A designated Project Management Professional, he is currently Director of Community Partnerships at the University of Calgary, and he previously led the City of Calgary's corporate marketing team. DJ has worked with City Council to initiate their Open Data Portal, making City data available to the public, and the Calgary Poet Laureate, a program funded at no cost to taxpayers.
