Making life better for Calgarians requires what DJ has; a mix of hard skills like leadership, communication, dedication and the soft strengths of likeability, respect, vision and openness. As a long-time resident of Ward 4, DJ has already built a legacy as a community builder and connector in his Winston Heights community. Bonus: beyond spending over 15 years making his neighbourhood better, he made the City’s large and complex administration better when he worked there and was tasked to bring significant culture change and greater efficiency to the work done by its 15,000 employees. He knows how the City works and how it can be improved to serve Calgarians better.

While DJ has been working diligently to build up his local community, down at City Hall our Ward 4 Councillor has drawn a paycheque while not exhibiting the competence or commitment that reasonable Calgarians expect from their elected representative. That Councillor has refused to effectively communicate with residents or collaborate productively with his Council colleagues. As Council has increasingly drifted into dysfunction, it is residents of Ward 4 who have been harmed by the disconnect that happens at the desk where our current Councillor sits.
If elected on October 20, DJ will move quickly to bring decisiveness and constructive collaboration to Council Chambers. He will elevate the voices of Ward 4 residents and advance the projects and infrastructure that have been ignored during Ward 4's "lost decade.”
With his newly elected teammates under The Calgary Party banner, DJ will get City Hall back on track, creating a Calgary that can meet the challenges of tomorrow.
